Giving Thanks

Dress: Cotton On
Knit cardigan: hand me down
Oatmeal-colored knee high socks: Cotton On

Finally back home for the Thanksgiving Holiday! Having the family party at our house, so enjoying the familiar smells of home cooked holiday foods wafting throughout the house. Haven't felt any holiday spirit yet since my school isn't decorated in any way fancy. However, I will definitely feel it when family friends come over and share just good company. As I grow older, there are less family parties and less people attend them. So these holiday parties where most of us gather is always a great way for us to reconnect and catch up on our lives. I hope all of you guys enjoy your time with family and friends, and remember to be thankful for whatever it is you are thankful for.

p.s. I really hate the fuss of Black Friday shopping, but for those who are going tonight, or in the early hours of the morning tomorrow, just be safe and watch out for all your belongings! As for me, I'll wait around until the after Christmas sales.

Masqueradin'

Dress: gifted
Purple cardigan: H&M
Gold twin hearts necklace: Flea market
Ring: Forever21
Gold feather ear cuff: Icing
Steve Madden Black Flats: borrowed from a friend

Dressed up despite the gloomy weather. Went out for a Filipino American Thanksgiving Dinner with my amazing Fil-Amily! Performed with my choir group I joined this year, and our holiday medley was so much fun! Especially with the audience's energy! It made me realize how much I miss performing with other people who love to sing as much as I do, and performing in front of your friends just makes it even more exciting. This night was a great way for me to bond with my choir girls and hang with my Big Sib! I definitely can't wait for future performances and next year's Thanksgiving Dinner!

Knit on Knit on Knit

Pink knit sweater: Forever 21
Gray circle scarf: New York & Company
Jeans: Old Navy
Gray knit beanie: H&M
Silver bracelet: gifted

Rainy days call for soft and cozy fabrics. Copped this warm knit beanie for only $3 at H&M recently. Love these winter sales (but the best ones are after Black Friday and After Christmas Sales, so don't go through the fuss of crowded malls in the wee hours of the morning the day after Thanksgiving and wait...patience is a virtue)! Went to choir practice today and am really having fun learning our holiday medley for an upcoming performance. Haven't been in choir for years, so it's been great to immerse myself back into the music. Don't get me wrong, I've been singing for family parties and dabbled a bit with the guitar (took piano lessons as a kid, but didn't we all?) but I definitely missed singing with other people. Plus, this group has been a great way for me to get to know more people in school and the upperclassmen are so welcoming! Hope to gain great advice to survive through college.

Creme Sweaters and Sparkly Knits

Sweater: Old Navy
Circle Scarf: New York & Company
Jeans: Old Navy
Fur boots: Macy's
Coat: Ross

Great day to wear knits...but again super warm out when I dress super warmly. There's no point in checking the hourly weather anymore. So not reliable. Anyway, I haven't revealed this yet but I have been in a choir group at school for a few weeks now. I haven't been in choir since 3rd and 5th grade, and I definitely miss it. Taking piano lessons when I was younger definitely helps in giving me a basic idea of how to read the music sheets. I absolutely love the Filipino-American community here as well. Definitely not what I was expecting, but everyone is genuinely kind, caring, and friendly here. Not at all fake. And I am so glad I decided to take part in the Big Sib Lil Sib program. I wasn't sure if I would be able to get along with who I would get randomly paired with, but my big sib is so friendly and easy to get along with! He definitely makes me feel at home and always makes sure I get on my bike safely after choir practice! I hope to be able to create long lasting friendships, because the family I see in this Fil-Am community is so close knit and strong. Anyway, I definitely want to make this college experience worth while.

Hidden Bow

Fuchsia cable knit sweater (gifted): Old Navy
Coat: Ross
Scarf (gifted): Old Navy
Jeans: Forever 21
Fur boots (not shown): White Mountain

Went home this Veterans' Day Weekend and enjoyed the presence of old friends. It was fun practicing for my friend's cotillion performance, even in this November cold. It was freezing at night, so I dressed myself super warmly for class. But of course, it wasn't THAT cold and I could have done without the huge scarf and fur boots...but whatever, at least I was prepared! I wish I could have posted what I wore during the weekend, but I was so busy I forgot and just went straight to bed. So here is today's fall/winter outfit. When figuring out what to wear, remember to not get so hung up about "what's new" and "what's trendy". This outfit is pretty much a whole bunch of bargains I bought (at separate times of course). The sweater and scarf were past Christmas gifts, the jeans were on the clearance rack, my boots were on a pre-Christmas sale, and my coat was from Ross...enough said (but don't look down on Ross, I mean this coat is actually of great material and has the cutest little bow detail at the bottom button)! It is all about keeping an eye out for what is true to your style and not settling down on expensive items. Just keep searching...who knows, your to-go-to coat or favorite pair of boots may be waiting at the next store down!

Bundled Up

Trench coat: H&M
Black and green striped long-sleeves: H&M
Black jeggings: PacSun
Gray circle scarf: New York and Company
Pink sneakers: Forever21

This quarter, Thursdays are early mornings for me. That means pile on the layers and keep warm while I arrive to my first class. Kept a clean, neutral look, sticking with the color scheme of blacks and green, throwing in a pop of bright color with my shoes. From the view inside my warm room, it looks bright and sunny, but it feels icy cold. How am I supposed to concentrate on revising my essay due in a few hours if I just want to cozy up in my warm bed? Winter quarter, somehow I will accomplish you without feeling too sluggish.

Last Day for Shorts and Tanks

Sheer gray high-low blouse: Forever 21
Green knit sweater: Old Navy
Black jeggings: PacSun
Gladiator sandals (not shown): Nordstrom
Messenger bag (not shown): Fossil

Decided to take out my sheer tank one last time before I get fully immersed in my winter wardrobe for the season. Yesterday (which was when I took these outfit pics) was supposed the be the last day of warm weather before fall/winter weather hit. I've been switching from shorts to pants, from tanks to knits, from sunglasses to scarves...let's hope it really is sweater weather so I can finally store my shorts away and bring more coats. However, remember to stay creative with your summer wardrobe, because you can still incorporate many pieces into winter outfits and save yourself some money. From a summer outfit (above), I quickly transformed this outfit so I could wear it in the colder months by just throwing on a flattering sweater/cardigan. I could easily have added a scarf, a beanie, or another coat on top of this if I was preparing myself for an even colder day. Just stay creative with all your pieces; don't be hindered by the words "summer wardrobe" and "winter wardrobe".

Black and White

Top: H&M
Black dress: H&M
Gladiator sandals (not shown): Nordstrom
Messenger bag (not shown): Fossil

Nice and sunny means "show them legs"! Even in November, I can still dress like it's summer vacation here. Allows me to utilize my dresses and shorts before I have to store them away for all of winter. Tried out Jenn Im's "90's knot"on my oversized top I got on sale from H&M in the summer (can somebody say $5?!) If you don't know who Jenn Im is, check her out on her youtube channel Clothes Encounters! I have been following her channel for almost two years now! She has been a huge influence, and absolutely love her creative style even when most of it is thrifted!

Slowly getting back into the swing of things regarding school, weather, clothing... Stayed very casual on my Monday. Started off my week with comfort, but always trying to challenge myself, clothing-wise, throughout the week. Also, go visit my instagram if you have an account! I have updated it (finally) so check it out!

Navy Knit

Sweater: Old Navy
Raincoat (not shown): Abercrombie & Fitch
Jeans: Kohls
Sneakers: Forever 21

Thanks guys for getting through all my posts today! I promise this is the last one for the day. Took this outfit shot yesterday, on Halloween. Staying warm with my knitted sweater! Stay tuned for more fall/winter outfits when the weather gets cooler.

Striped

Sweater: American Eagle Outfitters
Jeans: American Eagle Outfitters
Watch (borrowed): dad

One more post to be completely updated! At least all these posts make up for the days I missed, right? I hope to become a consistent, day-to-day blogger, but for now, please bear with me as I get accustomed to my college schedule. At least my midterms are over, so watch out for more activity on my blogger and tumblr!

Sweater Weather

Sweater: Forever 21
Raincoat: Abercrombie & Fitch
Circle scarf: New York & Company
Jeans: American Eagle Outfitters
Black lace-up military boots: Steve Madden

Last week I was able to finally dress for fall! I was excited to test the full potential of my raincoat...but it didn't even rain that day! Oh well, there will be plenty of time to test it out. Sorry for bombarding you all with post after post today, but I am almost done getting this blog completely up to date! Please bear with me, and thanks for continuing to read on!

Chilled

Sweater: American Eagle Outfitters
Jeans: PacSun
Scarf: Urban Outfitters
Necklace (gifted): Juicy Couture
Pendant (gifted)
Black lace-up military boots: Steve Madden

The first day it became cold enough to wear a sweater here! It was windy, but not too cold that I needed a jacket or coat. Chose to don my new sweater. Love it because I can wear it during these in-between times of temperature. It doesn't keep me too warm and it isn't too sheer. The bright, bold geometric patterns get balanced out with my solid gray-blue scarf. Paired this outfit with my trusty black lace-up military boots from Steve Madden (but I am definitely trying to save up for some awesome, classic, black Doc Martens).

Color Blocked

Neon Basic Tee: Old Navy
Striped Cotton Maxi Skirt: Forever 21
Gladiator sandals (not shown): Nordstrom
Brown waist belt (added later): Forever 21

Decided to try out the color-blocking trend way after it came to be popular. Pictured this outfit in my head the night before, and it came out better than I imagined! It's a great way to wear a bright neon color and patterns without going overboard on both. The plain, but bold color on top balances out the pattern on the bottom. I added on a brown waist belt to further break up the neon and the skirt.

Weather seriously is odd out here. I told you guys yesterday how it was bipolar and cloudy now? Well it's sunny and hot here once again! Hmmm, when will I be able to wear my winter wardrobe consistently? Well this outfit was taken several days ago, so I am slowly updating you guys with my past outfits of last week!

I'm still a fairly new blogger, but thank you to those who constantly follow me and my tumblr! It's great to see people viewing from all over the world as well! From Russia, to Germany, Philippines, Malaysia, and of course U.S.A.! I encourage you guys to post comments of what you think of my outfits, ramblings of my daily life, or your thoughts on the latest fashion trends (but of course, please be courteous and respectful with your comments)!
