Sir Monochromicorn

September 19, 2013
White tee: Burlington || Pants: American Apparel || Flats: Nine West || Backpack: vintage
Went out to do some last minute apartment shopping with Mother. Finally purchased some products I've been eyeing for a while.
Among the copious amount of items purchased for my dwelling in my new apartment starting this weekend, I purchased some personal items as well. They include Goody hair ties, Revlon Colorstay Nail Polish in 100 Buttercup (YES the shade that Jenn Im of Clothes Encounters has talked about), and NYC Long Wearing Nail Polish in 134 French White Tip.

Neat and Polished

September 17, 2013
My current nails - black with matte tips. Aside from my own base and top coat, I used the NYC Petites 273 Night and NYC, then NYC Matte Nail Polish for the tips. To get a clean line, I used painters tape to guide me. I've always wanted to try this look out, ever since I saw this online last summer! Now I'm itching to try another crazy nail look before I finally move into my apartment this Sunday.

Last Weekend Home

September 15, 2013
Top: Burlington || Pants: American Apparel || Necklace: Nordstrom Rack || Backpack: vintage
Simple outfit for another afternoon at church. Went out again with the family for lunch. Sister was craving pho again, so that's what we had. Well I got something different this time, just to change it up. Got seafood udon soup. Sprinkled with fried garlic pieces, made it taste "Filipino" or like "chicken mami noodles" according to my parents. Well, whatever it tasted like, it tasted great (even though I felt sick afterwards, after drinking all the soup. I have got to stop doing that).

My Friday the Thirteenth

Chambray top: Forever 21 || DIY High waisted shorts: thrifted || Belt: vintage || Sneakers: Forever 21 || Purse: Vintage

Shopped around IKEA with Dad for my apartment (which I visited earlier that day to move even more stuff into my room). Ended up with a lamp, cutlery tray, kitchen trash bin, laundry backpack, table legs, desk cover, and a desk chair. Still on the lookout for a foldable bed frame, but for now, I'll have to make do with a memory foam pad on top of a foldable mattress.

Side note: Embarrassingly, as we were walking away from potential bed frames, my purse (used to be my mom's before I was even born) fell right off of me. It took me a second to realize what just happened, then I quickly picked up my bag and nervously laughed it off. Darn, I knew I should have reinforced the half broken strap with my sewing needle. Oh well, an excuse for a new purse? Yeah right.

Happy Birthday Unconventional Bliss

Oops, posted two days late. Oh well, as of September 14, 2013, my blog is officially one year old! Wow, a whole year of blogging and photographing my outfits to challenge my creative eye (or for my own vanity). This blog has been with me through many of firsts, such as attending my first year in college, getting my first internship, and being away from home. Now that I will be moving into my new apartment this weekend before my second year starts, I am just as excited to experience the roller coaster of a whirlwind that I will face being the publicity chair for my club, working on my degree, and gaining work experience through internships. Another year, bring it on.

Lizzie McGuire, You Are An Outfit Repeater!

September 8, 2013
Top: gift || Scalloped shorts: gift || Kimono: H&M || Chunky heels: Fossil
Yes, if you've been an avid follower of my blog (I commend you for such an endeavor), than you will recognize this outfit. I wore this at a Fil-Am dinner, but switched out the khaki blazer in the previous post, with a lighter kimono for the heat this September. Wore this out for a day at church.
My failed attempt at such a rad, awesome manicure that I happened to come upon, by Instagram user: samiiryan. Such a creative idea, but I was limited on colors and tools. Oh well, next time.

Movin' On In

September 7, 2013
Noon: Moving into new apartment, Phase I
Evening: Sushi lessons
This morning, we drove all the way to my apartment in which I'll be living in for the upcoming school year. I'll be sharing a room with my life long childhood friend. Wow, did we feel a little more like adults when we got our own set of keys.
Top: Ross || Purse: vintage || Shorts: American Eagle Outfitters || Belt: vintage || Necklace: Nordstrom Rack || Watch: Fossil
Later that evening, my future roomie and I were offered to be taught how to make sushi by one of our titos ("uncle" or title of respect for male elders). I love sushi, so I attempted to make it before at home, but that turned out to be a disaster. After this night though, I definitely learned all the wrong things I did last time. Much respect for sushi chefs now.

The Breakfast Club

September 6, 2013
Noon: High school friends' brunch/movie date
Evening: Church's charity festival
Top: Cotton On || Vest: Thrift Town || High waisted shorts: Thrift Town || Necklace: flea market || Rings: Macy's || Watch: Fossil || Socks: H&M || Creepers: Nordstrom Rack
Headed over to the best friend's house to meet up with our old high school group for some home cookin'. Ended up filled 'til we couldn't eat no more, then lazily watched "Fight Club", which I've been wanting to see forever.
Later that evening, after "Fight Club" was over, we headed over to our church's annual festival. Absolutely lusted over some amazing vintage pieces at the rummage sale and auction.
