Reignited Passion

October 2, 2013

Club meeting this night. After a whole summer, I forgot about the excitement I felt when I was at Fil-Am Retreat. With everyone together in one room, and watching each org's informational video, I felt the camaraderie, pride, and love for friendship and culture all in that one room. Got me excited once again for the rest of the year.

Just throwing on cardigans on whatever top I can get a hold of.

Grandma's Closet

September 30, 2013
Top: Forever 21 || Cardigan: thrifted || Jeans: Urban Outfitters
Quick outfit for the first week of school. Definitely loving this cardigan I thrifted a few weeks back. Randomly discovered and stumbled upon the "Vintage" rack at my usual thrift store (I have no idea why I never discovered it until then). Anyhoo, there were amazing collared tops in such great material, better than the ones in stores like Forever 21. However, I knew I needed to add cardigans into my small collection since Fall/Winter is approaching. I am enjoying the fit of this cardigan, where it falls right above my wrist and has a boxy feel to it. And, it was on sale that day, so that was definitely a plus.

Second Year Second Chances

September 27, 2013
Top: Abercrombie & Fitch || Cardigan: Mango || Shorts: American Eagle Outfitters
"Second day of school outfit" outfit (since the first day I had to wear my Fil-Am organization shirt). Started off the year pretty chill and casual, and slowly eased my way back into experimental outfits. Keep an eye out for how I've been dressing recently (just wait for me to catch up on outfit posts)!

Enlightenment

September 21, 2013
Before my summer officially ended and I had to return to the land of lectures and midterms (a.k.a. "That College Life"), I just HAD to take advantage of my sister's free pass to an art museum. I haven't perused through a museum in the longest time, and I was itching to be inspired by other artists, especially since I am studying design.
It was definitely a worthwhile experience. I expected to just see paintings and traditional fine art pieces. However, it was great to walk through each piece and interact with some of them. Many incorporated multi media, which is brilliant for this time of day. One piece was one of the first I saw when I walked in, and I am just fascinated by it. It incorporated old video clips from China, music, projections, painting. To be able to experience how it was created, live in front of an audience, and to see its final production in the museum was so surreal.
Another one, pictured above, was another form of multi media. It took a traditional static form of entertainment, television or movies, and made it interactive and had a sense of motion. The way it was video-graphed made the viewers feel as if they were there in that scene. Everything about it was just refreshing, and gave me different perspectives of different landscapes.
The whole experience was definitely worth it, and has given me a fresh new look at how I view the world. As cheesy as that sounds, it is extremely important as a future designer to constantly get inspired by other artists and see how they do things differently. To gain new, fresh perspectives allows me to keep my imagination and "inspiration bank" fresh and always growing.

BrandBacker: BA STAR Holiday Red Lip Pencil

Hello everyone! Sorry about the lack of posts! The beginning of my second year in college came by in a whirlwind. One Fil-Am event and assignment after another, and things just got hectic. Despite my now busier life (compared to my static, couch potato summer), I truly enjoy keeping busy, catching up with good friends, and getting a higher education.

And with that, here is a post about a recent product I got in the mail! Read on to find out more.
From BA STAR, I received the Holiday Red Lip Pencil. At first it may seem orange/brown and shimmery, but it applies on as a bright red.
The texture is smooth and creamy. Definitely a plus for a lip pencil.

For all my readers, you can purchase this lip pencil for 50% off using the Reader Discount Code: BBLIPS

Note: Discount is off the full retail price ONLY. Cannot be combined with any other offers.

End of the Static Life

September 20, 2013
Dress: Cotton On || Oxford blouse: H&M || Cardigan: thrifted || Necklace: gift || Shoes: Nine West
Sorry for the lack of posts! Been a hectic start to my second year in college, but I shall post something before you all forget about me! Here is an outfit I wore during my last group hangout with my old high school friends. We went fancy that night -- dressed up, ate at an Italian restaurant, roamed the mall, went out for dessert, then hung out together before we all had to split ways for school.
